The International Conference on the Chemistry and Biology of Mineralized Tissues, held every 2-3 years since 1981, has become a premier international meeting in the mineralized tissue field.  It is a meeting that helps to define the most important research directions for the international community of scientists, engineers and clinicians working on the principles of biomineralization and their translation into  different biological systems, particular bones and teeth.

The meeting convenes about 50 speakers/discussion leaders (from amongst 150-175 participants), many of whom are the leading researchers in critical areas of basic and applied bio-mineral research, including the development of novel biomineralized materials and the development of clinical treatment strategies.
